OIWi at the 2024 Romance Slam Jam Conference by Nanci Race

Recently several Outreach members and I attended a virtual conference, Romance Slam Jam (RSJ). The conference was excellent. There were classes offered, prizes, and breakout rooms where we met fellow authors and readers. Many of the authors submitted their book covers, which were used for various activities including Book Cover Bingo played at the end of the three-day conference. Some of the authors had excerpts of their books professionally read by actor/audio book readers.

OIWI’ President Elect, Melba Moon was one of the chosen. The reading from her book, Remember Laura was wonderful. The reader brought the book to life. It was so well done that I wanted to go out and buy the book. Again. The book at the time was resting on my dining room table, but it was that good. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves time travel, contemporary, and historical romance. Remember Laura has it all.

Three book covers selected for Book Cover Bingo were a wonderful Historical by OIWI author Rhiana Rhiley, A Mail-Order Bride for the Shopkeeper (Brides of Leadville Series), and my own book Code Blue Murder (Ashton Community Hospital Series) and Melba Moon’s Remember Laura. I didn’t win, but the game was the most fun I’ve had at Bingo in a long time. I would recommend the RSJ conference to anyone who doesn’t want the hassle of plane fare or hotel rooms. You can do it in the comfort of your living room. Next time I’ll tell you about the classes we attended and what we learned that is so helpful to writers. I’m posting the link for the 2025 convention. There is still time to get the discount rate. https://www.rsjconvention-offer.com/
