Turning Short Stories (and Novellas) into Cash
In this two-week class we’ll focus on writing short stores and novellas that can earn you extra income when you’re between writing longer novels. Short stories are also perfect for keeping your writing skills sharp and also introducing you and your work to potential readers. We’ll look at how these stories differ from their longer counterparts and also types of markets for shorter pieces, including anthologies.
Instructor Bio
Susan Palmquist writes under her own name and also her pen name Vanessa Devereaux. She’s the author of 100 plus books, including writing how tos, mysteries and romances and a bestselling author of erotic romances and erotica. She pens many ongoing series. Her books have been bestsellers on all the major book sites, including Amazon, Bookstrand, All Romance E Books(TOP 50 Author), Fictionwise, and Kobo. She’s also a recipient of Evernight’s Reader’s Choice Award. For the last six years, Susan has also been self-publishing her books.
She’s been teaching workshops for various RWA chapters for the last ten years and has been a writing tutor for eleven years for an online writing school.
Prior to her writing career, Susan worked in public relations and spent three years as a book publicist.
