SUMMARY:Using Emotion to Make Your Protagonist\, Antagonist\, or Villain Memorable - Mary Marvella
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Description: \nStories have main characters we root for. They can be good or bad. Really. Protagonists don’t need the bigger than life characteristics that heroes or heroines have. In other words\, they don’t need to be in romance novels. Join us to look at ways we can use emotion to make readers connect with the person who wants to save a child or the ranch or just tell his or her story. Emotion is the key\, even more important than the plot.\nInstructor’s Bio: \nMary has been a story teller since she could talk. As a child\, Mary made the “Let’s Pretend” games. Now she and her characters play that same game\, but her characters insist their stories are real. She taught Language Arts/English for 15 years and began writing books when she retired. She is Georgia bred and Georgia raised and wouldn’t live anywhere else. The times she tried she missed her southern roots. Mary’s daughter is her best project! \nMary aims at readers’ heart strings and loves to tease with sensuous scenes. Mary edits for freelance clients.  She Indie published 10 novels\, a collection of Christmas stories\, and a grammar book. \nTeaching online classes and giving workshops makes Mary’s inner teacher happy. Helping folks take their ideas and turn them into books pleases Mary’s inner writer and her inner teacher. For the past 10 years\, Mary has edited both memoirs and how-to books. \nMary has presented workshops with HHRW\, OIWI/Outreach International\, FF&P\, Savvy Authors\, A2P\, Walton Writers\, and for East Metro Atlanta Christian Writers\, Moonlight & Magnolias conference\, and The Southern Pen Indie Conference. \nAs a freelance editor\, Mary has edited more than 80 books in different genres\, including detective novels\, memoirs\, and how-to books.
