Some articles have them disrupting the world as we know it\, while others seem to make GenAI sound like a worthless toy. The reality is that Generative AI technologies like Chat GPT and Bard can help writers in several useful ways. Join OIWI’s own\, Patrick Haggerty\, as he discusses the uses and challenges of working with GenAI. Topics will include:\n\n\nGenAI options: Duet for Google Docs\, CoPilot or Word\, ChatGPT\, and Bard\nIdeation: getting ideas when you need them\nOutlining: if you believe in that sort of thing\nSummarization\nResearch\nPossible concerns and limitations\n\nInstructor Bio: \nAfter four years in the USMC\, Pat Haggerty studied Actuarial Science and Computers at Georgia State University. He has spent the past 16+ years developing and delivering technical training courses for Learning Tree International and runs a successful consulting practice doing web application development for clients ranging from the United State Marines to Delta Airlines. Seven years ago\, stuck reading a mediocre book in yet another hotel\, Pat decided to try his hand at fiction. He may not be published\, but these days you are much more likely to find him spending his evenings writing romance than code. Patrick is an active member of RWA\, RWAustralia\, RWNew Zealand\, and is President for GCRWA\, and former president of OIRWA. Patrick is OIWi’s tech wizard/website guru as well as serving on the OIWi Board as Member-at-Large.
