SUMMARY:Give your Story Teeth - How to grab your readers from page 1
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Description: \nSome stories have wonderful concepts but don’t take us on a roller coaster ride. If a suspense doesn’t grab readers and keep them on the edge of their seats\, no one will care enough to keep reading. How much backstory can we add without interrupting the action? How can we keep the action going and still get in the needed details? Which types of verbs and sentences should we delete to keep readers breathless and grabbing hanging on to every word\, reading until dawn. What do we need to add to thrill and horrify? How much does our reader need to know and \nInstructor Bio: \nMary Marvella has been a storyteller for as long as she can remember. The arrival of the book mobile was as exciting as hearing the music of the ice cream truck. As a child of the South\, she inherited the storytelling gene from her parents and her grandmamas. \nRetired from teaching classic works of the masters\, Mary plays let’s pretend with her characters. She has published 10 novels\, 1 book on editing\, and a collection of Christmas stories. \nMary tutors\, and coaches writers when she isn’t working on projects as a freelance editor.  She has always been a grammar geek who loved soaking up new knowledge and reading everything\, including labels on cereal boxes. \nGeorgia raised\, she writes stories with a Southern flair.
